You are trying to play a file with copy protection. The application (itunes or windows media player or ?) is trying to contact the source to validate that you are authorized to play the song. Apparently you aren't.

It's possible the DRM on the file from the Library is not compatible with your device or chosen player.

For example, netLibrary eAudioBooks require Windows Media Player 9 or higher to work. If you don't use WMP 9 or higher, then it won't function at all because it cannot decipher the DRM. NetLibrary also doesn't work with iTunes or any Apple iPod based device.

You might also just try clearing your web browser cookies and cache OR check and see if your Firewall or other security software on your computer is preventing the license exchange (very common with NetLibrary).

I've run into the same thing, and it was on songs I had bought and previously played without a problem. The licenses shouldn't expire, should they? I'll be watching the other answers with interest, because I'd like to know if there's a fix. My reaction was to quit downloading music. As far as I'm concerned, downloads will never replace CDs. Anyone who thinks CDs are becoming obsolete never had to deal with a hard drive crash.

Maybe the song you're trying to play came with some security, it happends when you download windows media player files. it's a matter of Copyright stuff.
