I do not stare. I will not be the first to let go when our eyes lock either. Before it becomes nerve racking I will inquire if there is something they want to say.

I've had people attempt that with me before and I outstared them. I cannot be intimidated and will never get nervous. I don't do it myself because I think it's rude behavior.

No I don't -- that is rather inconsiderate and is something my students with behavior problems do to each other. Hopefully mature adults know better.
