Saves:
Rule 10.20 in the Official Rule Book states:
Credit a pitcher with a save when he meets all three of the following conditions:
(1) He is the finishing pitcher in a game won by his club; and
(2) He is not the winning pitcher; and
(3) He qualifies under one of the following conditions:
- (a) He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning; or
- (b) He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, or at bat, or on deck (that is, the potential tying run is either already on base or is one of the first two batsmen he faces; or
- (c) He pitches effectively for at least three innings. No more than one save may be credited in each game.

i do no longer purely like the belief of warning the pitchers in any respect. this gives a large benefit to hitters. as quickly as a results of fact the communities are warned, a glass can no longer pitch interior for concern of having thrown out for throwing on the batter. they could besides placed the ball on a tee for the batter. If MLB desires to make the "penalty" harder for hitting a batter, they can supply effective batter 2 bases as a exchange of one or how approximately an escalating scale with the 1st hit batter by using a team in the sport getting a million base, the 2nd gets 2 bases, third one 3 bases, and four or extra get 4 bases. that could desire to stop dissimilar retaliations in a sport.

3 ways,

1, enter the game in the 9th with a 3 run lead and close game.

2, pitch 3 innings in relief and close the game.

3, enter the game with the tieing run on deck and close the game.
