Approximately 23.5 Degrees. If the Earth would've had 50 degrees, the seasons would've been twice as long, the whole system of days vs seasons would've been completely different, even the season oreder would've crumpled up eventually. So to conclude, this given tilt, makes the amount of sun's heat and light we receive ideal for life.

Hi. The Earth is tilted as answerer 1 said, but the axis slowly wobbles over time periods of about 25,000 years. This means that now summer occurs when the Earth's northern hemisphere is farthest from the Sun. It will be hotter in 12,500 (or so) years when the face is both closest to the Sun and tilted toward the Sun. Hope this helps.

Guess you're asking about Earth's axis being tilted. If it wasn't tilted there would be no seasons on our planet. Why our planet's axis is tilted isn't known for sure, but many astronomers believe it happened when an object about the size of Mars slammed into Earth not long after it first formed.
