Best Way to Appy Liquid Eye Liner???

I really love the glam look of liquid eyeliner but i have no clue how to apply it without smudging! Help!!

An eyeliner pencil might not smudge but it is harder to get the color on. I used to watch my mother lick the pencil to wet it so the color would go on darker and thicker. I always thought that it was an unsanitary practice.

use the pencil instead
its easier and doesnt smudge
