I'm looking for a decent place to get my hair cut in the NYC area that doesn't cost and arm and a leg. I have straight, long hair and just need to get a few inches off and the bangs trimmed - nothing complicated. I just started a new job so I'm a little tight on funds for now and most of the places I've found are $50-60 and up. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Astor Place Hair Designers, 475-9854, 2 Astor Place, off Broadway, I think the #15 bus goes there call them and ask for dry cut pricing.

I have long hair as well and usually just get quick trims to keep it looking healthy.... I go to the aveda institute on Spring and 6th Ave. Its super cheap about $20 for a haircut. They are students but this is the last step before they graduate they do a really nice job and there is an instructor always checks their work

Try going to a Dominican Hair Salon they will probably charge about $25 dollars to trim your hair, roller set it and/or blow it out.
