i will love to stay in luxor, but on new year eve these hotels run for atleast 1500 for four days with two adults and two kids. I don't want to spend that much on a hotel. Anyway, i will not be spending much time in hotel room, i just need a room to sleep. I am specially intersted in cancun resort, but i am confusef looking at the reviews.

You are going to find most all properties are expensive for New Years in Vegas.
Circus and the Plaza are cheaper but old. If you are just looking for a place to sleep they will work.
If you are trying to save some money you might want to look off the strip for better prices for New Years.
Boulder Station, Sams Town or one of the budget suites if you can stay for a week they are cheap and clean enough to just sleep and shower in.

I would honestly say none of the above. The Cancum resort is far from anything. It is miles south of the strip and not even in metro Las Vegas. Circus Circus is really not a great place. It is one of the older hotels on the strip and it shows. The manor rooms are just horrible. Think about a bad motel next to an RV park. The Plaza is in "downtown" Las Vegas. Not bad for some, but if you are with kids, I'd think twice.
For more budget-minded places on the strip, look at the Sahara, Tropicana, or Excaliber.

My parents always stay in the mirage whenever they go to LV. They love it so much - the hotel decor, the dining, casinos, etc. However, when they took me to LV, I stayed at Mandalay Bay and loved it! Mandalay Bay has a fantastic pool area that could keep you occupied for hours on end. The rooms are beautiful, and the service is great. It also has an in the hotel railway thing (I forget what it's called) that takes you directly over to two other fantastic hotels. If you stay at Mandalay Bay, I definitely recommend visiting the aquarium - it's one of the most amazing things I have ever seen! Don't stay in MGM unless the main purpose for you to be there is for the gambling. That's truly the main attraction of the hotel. Treasure Island is also not one of my top choices, though during your trip, I do recommend for you to take a look at the pirate show if they have one going on. Have a great time in LV! Hope this helped!

The only one that I have had experience with is Circus Circus. I know that it is old. If you are looking for a place to just sleep, it's a cheap place to stay. I remember it being clean but a bit run down.
I can't help you with the others, sorry.
I spend so little time in the room, all I care about is that it's clean. Hope this helps a little.
Have fun

I have reviewed the Here are some trip advisor links for you.
Cancun Resort

Circus Circus
Stayed here, and we do bring our daughter here when we go. It is a little run down as far as I am concerned, and the staff was VERY slow to respond compared to other places we have stayed. Out of the three options you gave, I would choose this, but if I had my other choices, it would be somewhere else.

Plaza Hotel (I think this is the one you mean)
I was not impressed. Would not stay here again, ever!

Personally I would choose the The Orleans, Rio, MGM, or Bellagio. I will not stay at Harrahs, Bally's, Paris or New York New York (although I love the roller coaster) again due to service issues.
Best of luck.

If that's my only choices I would reluctantly go with Circus Circus, for your family.
IMO the most kid/family friendly hotels in LV are
#1- Orleans
http://www.orleanscasino.com
#2- Excalibur
http://www.excalibur.com
#3- Circus Circus
If you're at all interested in the Orleans or Excalibur e-mail me through YA and I will give you more detailed info.

I wouldn't stay at any of those. I just came from vegas this weekend. don't stay at the Gold coast either. I like bally's, the candlewood suites (comes with a kitchen) the palms, I heard the orleans is okay. i think candlewood suites would be my fav. choice, because when I stay a week its cheaper to buy groceries and cook, ie. breakfast than to hit up a buffet or restaurant.

I wouldn't stay at any of those hotels. I have stayed at the Orlean's (off strip) and New York, New York, which is reasonably priced. Good luck.
