I usually go for strawberry preserves on buttered pancakes. Sometimes I'll add some maple syrup.
Here are some items that we used to use when I was a kid growing up in the 1960's:
Honey
Karo Syrup
Molasses
and of course marmalades of any flavor.
Favorite ice cream
Fresh fruit with whipped cream
Enjoy!

Butter and powdered sugar. I like to roll up a piece of bacon or sausage in the pancake and dip it in syrup.

Usually just butter and syrup... but sometimes blueberry compote is great. When I was in college I dated this girl who liked chocolate sauce on her pancakes... seems pretty rich for my blood.

Just butter (and syrup). I like whip cream and fruit too - but I usually only get that in restaurants.

Strawberry jam or lingonberries are good. Yum! I also like to stir fresh blueberries into the pancake batter before cooking them.

Quick and simple? Butter and sprinkle with sugar.
Fancy? Blueberry syrup, fresh blueberries, and whip cream.
