I just started University and I want to talk to the others in my English course but I have no idea what to say. The only thing that pops into my head is "so...um... you like english huh?" or "what time is it?" so I don't say anything at all. But I want to get to know them! Good topics of conversation and good ice breakers please?

A simple hi, I'm [insert your name here], how are you with your hand stretch out is always good, but if you want more like a converstion then after the introduction ask them some questions like, "so is this your first year here?" and get it going from there. The best way to keep a conversation going is you have to listen to what they say and pull out bits of the conversation and make it into a question to have them elaborate more on the subject being asked. You could ask them all kinds of questions like what they are into music wise. tv wise anything. The last subject once you can't think of anything else is the weather. Best of luck and hope I helped.

It truly relies upon on the guy. it is much less complicated in case you be attentive to what styles of issues the guy is involved in. you're able to no longer pretend to have an interest although in case you at the instant are not considering you will run out of issues to assert and characteristic an ungainly silence. you should income to think of on your ft. the least complicated way i will propose is you utilize your observational skills and strike up a communication based on something around you or something the guy is doing. That way you at the instant are not popping out of left field with some random question approximately no longer something.

Ask them what their major is, why they chose that course, what other courses they're taking, where they're living on campus (or if they're commuting), where they're from, etc.
