First of all, rings made from either gold or silver are NEVER 100% gold or silver. They are ALWAYS alloyed with other metals like nickle to add strength.
Look for lettering stamped into the metal on the inside surface. If you do not see 14k or 18k on the gold ring then the ring has either a low or no gold content. The silver rings should have a decimal value stamped on them of 0.875 or above. If not, they have a low or no silver content.
The green is from the base metals in the alloy reacting with your perspiration. A higher content silver or gold content should eliminate the green corrosion.

The reason your skin turns green is because the metal in the ring is rubbing off on your skin. The ring is most likely not real gold.

Copper oxidizes green. merely seem at previous copper plumbing etc. So there is a few copper in the steel alloy used on your rings (no longer uncommon) and there is not any longer something incorrect or "fake" approximately it till somebody lied to you and instructed you it grew to become into gold, etc. you may attempt cleansing the jewellery in a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and white vinegar (a million:a million). it could remedy your subject. in any different case purchase from a jeweler who makes the jewellery by using hand and tells you what he/she is using !

gold/silver or platings contain a solid called pharamorside, in hot weather (usualy in the summer) particles of pharamorside turn into liquid (green liquid) causing the skin it is touching to stain green. it should come off in warm water dont worry :)
