This morning Jimmy Clausen is the new starting QB ofr the Irish wow how can Charlie Weis pull the triger on the new QB so fast, I think charlie weis know Jimmy is his QB all along but he name the other guy to be his starter in the first game knowing they gonna fail, which they did and now he can name Jimmy as his QB of the future. I smell something fishy with this situation, Charlie don't want to hand Jimmy the QB job without earning it, plus he haven't been in South Bend long so he make it like the other QB fail so he can name Jimmy as his new QB wow this lame? What are your though about the QB situation in Notre Dame?

well, since I just answeres this question....here's the replay:

am a huge Notre Dame fan.

And from that perspective, I suppose I want him to do well.
Unfortunately, I also can't stand the little butt weasel, because he is an arrogant turd. I probably am coming down too hard, but any cat who shows up to announce that he is gonna attend ND, by pulling up to the Hall of Fame in a stretch Hummer, and flashing his 4 high school rings, like they actually mean a dang thing in NCAA football...needs a reality lesson.

Now, even for those who aren't Notre Dame fans...this IS the college that brought us Joe Montana. Invented the forward pass...the 4 Horseman, Jerome Bettis...etc. This guy showed up weeks after Quinn set every passing record at the school (playing with a crappy O-line the whole time), and was actually still on campus.....and the Weasel shows up and tries to act like the big man on campus. He aint proved nothing.

He needs to go in there, and lose, and get the crap knocked outta him, and THEN, see if he can get back up, and inspire his teammates. Brady did. Montana did.

And actually, I would prefer Sharpely. I think he showed more poise, and leadership, and He doesn't already think he's the next Joe Montana. (apparently Jones does....but well.....).

I think he really was not given a chance to show much (not that any of them were, as soon as the ball was snapped, there was more GT players in the backfield the ND players).

But, I think Clausen could very well prove to be Weis big mistake. (that, and not recruiting any linemen worth a turd).

Unless Clausen gets his head shrink soon, he is already well on the road to Ryan Leaf-dom.

It was bound to happen sooner or later. Demetrius Jones, in my honest opinion, will be moved to a WR somewhere down the line. He has too much athleticism to keep OFF the field. He may not be the man at QB but he is a talent. Yes Clausen was gonna be the guy all along, but he probably didnt want to put the kid in right in because:

1. Didnt he have some kind of minor surgery recently?
2. He IS a true freshman and Jones was given the start since he is a vet.
3. Punishment for that little alcohol thing Clausen got into recently.

But thats all speculation now.....its Jimmy's team. But make no mistake, if Jimmy cant get it done, he'll probably go right back to Jones or even Sharpley.

Basically Weis is going with the less of the 3 evils. Clausen will improve through the year, but his offence around him is terrible. It will be a long season for the Irish. Weis will keep Clausen in because he is the best of the three and the future QB. Unfortunately CLausen is very arrogant and has a long way to come. We will see if he leaves his ego at home.

Notre Dame is bad this year. They lost a ton of talented seniors, everyone knew they were going to be bad this year that's why they weren't ranked preseason.

Charlie Weiss has the #1 recruiting class for 2008, things are building, it's college, it takes four years to get your whole first class through the system, once that's done, he'll be building on top of talent, just like USC every year.

I think Clausen is overrated, but he'll perform, once he gets an o-line, and they get a defense. Wicio, as for Clausen choking in high school....I'm not sure what you're referring to, because he was 42-0 in hight school.

Well, its about damn time, Charlie...Jimmy, welcome to ND...Help us salvage the season...

...Weis flat out said in spring practice that he will not just hand Clausen the job...but given the GT game, he earned it...He clearly played the best in an actual GAME SITUATION...while the other two had the same chance in the same game...Jimmy Clausen has earned it now...He is the starter for the season now...

...ND will beat Michigan State, Purdue, UCLA, Navy and Boston College...ALL wins last year...and they will beat Penn State this weekend...Hopefully...*L*...

...and Clausen is a quiet, unassuming guy...I guess someone above is referring to how Clausen announced he was going to ND...arriving in a limo...but that was hardly just Clausen's idea...Try his HS coach and probably Weis...and as for the alcohol incident, he was with somebody who tried to buy it...Jimmy wasn't the one trying to buy it...

They have to start a Clausen. I think The moment he signed his letter of intent, He was the starting QB. How will he perform is another question? The offensive line is very immature,RB YOUNG, WR young. Where is there any experience on the offensive side of the ball? This will be a trying year for ND!

Jimmy Clausen hasn't even been drafted yet, and Quinn went to arguably between the three worst franchises interior the NFL. i ask your self what proportion all of us is going to step up and consume their crown while Quinn is putting up professional Bowl numbers in Denver.

It's a temporary position. If Saturday's game is any indication of the ability of the Irish to protect their qb then all three qb's will get a lot of playing time.

I think that the domers need to get used to the idea of a 4 and 8 season. Lets look at the schedule, shall we....
GT--lost
Penn State--will lose
Michigan--who knows, but I think App State would beat ND too.
Michigan State--will lose
Purdue--win
UCLA--will lose
BC--will lose
USC--will lose
Navy--push
Air Force--win
Duke--win
Stanford--win
So, 6-6 at best. Doesn't look good this year.

They said he was ready at the end of last week but they didn't want to rush it. I think they just want a green QB to take the fall for the crappy season to come. Especially after getting clowned real bad saturday.
