shouldn't even matter, but yeah..if your fat you get made fun of, but if your skinny you still get made fun of?

fat people wanna be skinny,

and if your not fat or skinny you still get hated on either way..lips, hair, or eyes or way you talk..nobody is pleased with anything anymore..nothing is perfect in this world..

if your short, tall, fat, skinny, wear glasses, walk funny, talk funny or when you become really old, or little kid, you get made fun of either way..

i find it weird..when people make fun of other people..there also making fun of themselves, cuz there not perfect either

Everyone has insecurities and it of course effects your self esteem. For some it greatly effects their self esteem. Some people need to publicly humiliate others to feel better about themselves. I was a bartender for a time and this one guy was telling me how cute I was and a regular customer said, "don't tell her that". He said it like, "her heads big enough." I can see how I might come off as cocky to some people. I've always been very confident in myself but it really has never gone to my head. I don't really remember getting a whole lot of compliments from people. I never really cared. I like me. Maybe some people need and rely on compliments. So when they don't get them as often as they want to they resort to making fun of others. I can see how some people with low self esteem could become consumed with what other people think. It's unfortunate. Being insecure is one of the reasons but I think it's the main reason.

Another could be parents always made comments about others. A person that does it all the time doesn't see anything wrong with it. So neither will their kids when they grow up. It's a part of their personality. But what can you do. I know it's aggravating that people can be so shallow. Just be aware that when you are teaching your kids how to ride a bike that you are also responsible for how they will be interacting with and treating others when they are kids, teens and adults. I think alot of people are lazy, don't care or don't realize how much their kids are really learning from them. And most of it is learned when they are toddlers.

Maybe some people don't think before they speak. I've done it. Like noticing some girl is wearing cheap or knockoff perfume. I can tell, and I think it stinks. It's just one of those things for me. But I really shouldn't say out loud that I think so. If I'm with my husband or a friend I'll say something like, "that perfume smells so cheap, I can't stand it." I don't always think that the person could be within earshot of me. Of course that person would feel bad. Or what if my friend uses those kinds. I've just offended her. I don't purposefully make fun of someone. I wasn't purposefully trying to hurt someones feelings. It was bad judgement.

Anyway, that's my two cents. Well, more like twenty five cents.lol

My perception is that skinny ppl are cared for even more than is the overweight person. We hone in on the ppl who are over-eating like it is a dang crime, they get harassed and belittled for having basically the same problem that does an anorexic.

And you're right, I think we all need a little more room to breathe. I could never handle stardom, I'd go completely nuts on a daily basis

Your last sentence is right on. The people who make fun of other people, are insecure and show it in this negative way. They should really take a good long look at themselves.

Years ago, I worked as a dancer. The guys were horrible. They'd complain if your chest was real/fake--large/small. You were too fat-thin-not curvy enough. Your hair was not the right color--too long/too short. It's no wonder most of those girls had drug and drinking problems and horrible self esteems.

People are easily influenced by the media.Pick up a celebrity mag,all you read about is fat or skinny celebrities.Celebrities will do just about anything to look perfect. Then it's damned if you do,or damned if you don't.That's who we look up to?So sad....

I know what you mean. It's stupid, but most people are heartless & shallow, and only care about appearences, those people are retarded, and probably aren't going to be very happy in their life.

I don't make fun of anyone. I'm not going to make fun of someone just because they look different, it's just mean.

people who make fun of others will find anyway they can to do it, no one not even the person taunting another is perfect. That is why no one should take the insults given to them to heart.

I think it is just the way society. it is sad, people focus more on their outside appearance instead of their inside. As long as there are people like Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, then there will always be superficialism. It really sucks.
