Yes...you can't say..."you have a small d-ck" to a woman.

Aside from the obvious--low blow or knee to the crotch--I'd say no. But....while there aren't any *other* things specific to men that don't work on women....the anatomy is different in ways that *can* be used.

This is important because most men *grow up* becoming "black belts" in terms of "protecting their boys", so to speak. We learn early that the cheap shot hurts, and that the reflexes to protect yourself from that are a good thing to learn.

So....remember this, but also keep in mind that your mileage may vary, and that at any rate, legally, the idea isn't to fight someone to dominate them, but to survive the violence and *escape*. Escape *is* your legal obligation here. Do much more than that and *you* will end up in jail while your attacker goes free.

--Men generally have larger target areas around the neck, throat and lower jawline. Most of this is just hormonal, it can't be helped. And while there are *some* protective features in that area (beard, thicker skin in general), the truth is, if you know or are learning how to attack the throat or underside of the jawline, generally speaking these attacks *will* be slightly higher percentage--easier to hit--on a man than they would be on a woman.

Meaning? Learn how to throw a good uppercut, against a heavy bag and with a partner using focus mitts. Also practice throwing palm-heel strikes, chops, and other open-hand attacks on an uppercut arc so that if need be, you can follow up with more attacks. Search the whole name "W.E. Fairbairn" and something called a "chin jab" for more details.

Basically, the idea is, you have a larger target with which to first attack the mandibular nerves of the lower jaw, and/or the tender bits of the Adam's apple (thyroid) or windpipe (trachea). From there, your training *should* teach you to get head control (for a neck crank or a chokehold) so you can stop the fight. If you are in fact training something that teaches self-defense that is.

--Men generally have somewhat more muscle on their bodies than women do, of the same height and weight. This generally means that *some* of the pressure-sensitive targets that work well on women will be *larger* and work better on men courtesy of their being closer to the skin's surface (more muscle, less body fat). Generally speaking some of these areas can include: the clavicles (collarbones), the triceps muscles (backs of the upper arms), the floating ribs of the bottom of the ribcage, the "liver shot" area where the liver overlaps with the floating ribs, and the Griffith's Pinch area over the Femoral Artery of the upper right thigh [*].

Point is, if you know where to hit and grab, the tender bits on a man are a *little bit* more exposed.

--In general, also....as women get older, their testosterone levels *rise* slightly. As men get older, their testosterone levels *drop*. One consequence of this is, if your opponent is past say, 40 or so, and is not an athlete, that men *can* end up having a softer or weaker abdominal wall to exploit. But this can vary quite a bit depending on the physical condition of your attacker.

--Also...you may really want to consider learning a good shoot--entering move--into a single or double-leg takedown. While it is true that men generally have more muscle than women and are generally more fit to fight (on average), with men the bias in muscular development favors the upper body. The legs aren't going to be as strong, and the balance point--the center of gravity, of mass--is going to be higher up the torso. Both of these things make men, on average, easier to take down to the ground. Keep in mind however that being athletic can *really* negate this one, that an athletic man is going to be a difficult opponent no matter what you try to do.

Just be sure you have a plan, and know what you are going to do once it goes there.

I hope this was helpful....take care and *stay safe*. ^_^

[*] --I may have to check this one, make sure I have the *correct side*, give me a moment.....Yep, *right thigh*! ^_^ Just like I thought....Wiki has my back again!
