When I say toned down, I mean that its like global wamring, you know its still a problem, but its somehting thats not making the headline news daily.

yes when we get better leadership in jan 2009. Even if its another republican ( i hope not ) any of the candidates will be less devisive both here and otherseas and will make more rational mature choices that will help to reduce tensions rather then stoke them

But they will get a lot worse before that.
These problems will escalate until there is full-blown war, and the result will be pretty much decisive. The world will find a new balance, and be mostly peaceful for a while.
