(2xy^3)^3 can be written as such:

2xy^3 * 2xy^3 * 2xy^3

Break it down:

2 * 2 * 2 = 8
x*x*x = x^3
y^3*y^3*y^3 = y^9 (you add exponents)

ANS: 8x^3y^9
