OH my do I feel your pain! I am 29 weeks pregnant and having the same thing. It makes it hard for those middle of the night bathroom trips.
I beleive that it is the baby is laying and putting pressure on your sciatic nerve. It is extremely painful!
The sciatic nerve is a long nerve that runs from the lower back to the back of the legs and feet. Typically this nerve allows feeling in the muscles of the legs and feet. There are times however when the sciatic nerve can become inflamed, whether from pressure in the back or injury. When this happens people experience sciatic pain. Sometimes persistent or chronic pressure to the sciatic nerve can result in weakness in the leg or surrounding areas, numbness or even tingling. Some women describe the sensation as similar to the feeling of pins and needles you get when your leg falls asleep.
Best of luck!

My guess would be that too. That happened to me alot too. Baby is probably just on a nerve. Just keep switching sides if necessary, whatever is comfortable for you. It may also help to sleep with a small pillow behind your back, kindof under your hip, so that you can lean on it (hopefully that makes sense), it'll help take some of the pressure off.

sciatic nerve, its common but it sucks. the pressure of the growing baby is compresing the nerve, and it makes your leg ache like a tooth. Try a heating pad and massage. Sleep on the other side if it helps. Good luck.

the whole sleeping on the left side is so overrated. Sleep in the position you are most comfortable with. I remember having to move from left to right all night because my legs hurt, that's because you can't spend the night with your whole body weight on your left or right leg/hips, it is going to hurt. Just move when this happens and find a position that allows you to rest and relax. Congratulations on the baby!!

will i had that happen to. My hip start hurt so i have to turn to the other side. I wake up turn every hour turning.
You should go for massage if can..
You can try to wake up your husband to give you massage. because when i wake up and sit on butt it doesn't hurt. So you should try to turn more.. or have pillow on your back. and put pressure on your tummy not a lot. so your hip is on the side beside your tummy.
or you can always call your nurse and ask her what you can do.

It's probably just baby sitting on your nerve! It could also be joint pain from baby putting pressure on your hips. Don't worry, it will disappear when baby comes!
