Typhoons are the same storms as Hurricanes but in the western pacific.

There is no difference except that the average frequency of occurance of typhoons in a year is more than that of hurricanes

The only difference is the hemiphere they are in : in the western hemisphere, we call them "hurricanes", in the eastern hemisphere, they are called "typhoons". But meteorologically speaking, they are the same type of storm.

They are the same, just called differently. Like seaquake and tsunami (same).
