First thank you to everyone who has helped me so much on here!

Logan William arrived on 8/31 @ 9:28pm weighing 8lbs 12oz

I was induced at 8am and labored well untill the last 3 hours of hard labor, the baby would crown where the doc could see his hair but he would not move any further than that, no matter how hard i pushed or how much the doc helped him along. They finally belived me and took me in for a c-section. They even hooked me up to a pit drip to get the contractson stronger! They took this off when they decided to go c-section. I dont agree that I had to lay there and labor hard for 3 hours when I told them there was something wrong I couldnt do it, Then had to wait an aditional 45 minutes to an hour for the surgery team to set up and arrive (small hospital) all the while im still having unbearable hard contractions. Then to top everything off I had to be put fully under because something about the person who does the spinal blocks was not avalable. So my hubby

Katy,
Although our situation was a little different than yours, my wife & I found out that our baby was breach and had to have a "C" Section. I also, was not aloud in the delivery room.
They said that there was no sense in it because she was going to be put under. As I waited VERY nervously in the waiting room, it seemed like forever so I took a walk down the hall. In a few more minutes (Seemed like hours) the nurse came down the hall and announced to me "Would you like to hold your daughter"? I didn't care that she announced it.
I was just thrilled to see my baby girl and to know that my wife was resting comfortably, unconsious, but comfortable.
All hospitals have there own policies.
I'm glad it worked out for you.
I hope this is what you were looking for???

I had my son 3 months ago and I labored for 17 and a half hours with him. I didn't want a C-section, although I was given that option after pushing for 3 hours and getting no where. I opted for the vacuum and my god, that was the worst choice ever! I had to have a 4th degree episiotomy and it took longer than the standard 2 weeks of a c-section for me to heal. In fact, I'm still healing now. Did you have an epidural before you tried to push? I think that my epidural had something to do with my difficult delivery. I couldn't push even though I tried with all my might. I just couldn't feel a thing! It didn't help that the nurses and doctors were yelling at me either.

My son was only 7.5 lbs and 20.5" long, but I'm petite, only 5'1" and 100 lbs pre-preg. The doctor also "mistakenly" broke my waters the day I went into labor during my prenatal. He shouldn't have been poking and prodding around in there!

I think the hospital did what they could, for both of us, but it's unfortunate that our experiences couldn't have been as wonderful as we thought they would be. I'm glad you and baby are safe and sound though! Congrats!

what you have experienced is the risk taken with an induction

it so unfortunate.....what was the reason for the induction?

and did you doctor suggest putting you into a different pushing position?

if you were there in the bed of course he could have been "stuck"........didn't they at any point say your position wasn't working and get you up standing.....or squatting?

it is proven that a squatting position opens up the pelvis and allows the vaginal exit to expand up to 2 inches

so sorry you had to go thru that when it all sounds very poorly managed......stories like this anger me when you most likely could have had a less painful vaginal birth with better direction and less medical intervention

but congrats on the baby

OMG my first birthing experience was exactly like this, and yes they rushed me in for an emergency c section as well. So i think it is probably normal, beings that they let us go through the initial birthing experience first. But congrats on coming through it, and a new baby boy! God Bless!

Well, I've heard of hospitals doing c-sections very fast, after a small sign and mothers being very upset because it wasn't necessary. So I'd be glad they didn't want to put you through the pain of a c-section recovery until they were absolutely sure it was necessary.

Congrats!

it was not an optimal birth experience, but the important thing is that you and baby are doing fine. Congrats!
