it took me a couple of years to get in to them. "louder than bombs" is a good cd.

The Smiths were a great band... Morrissey is an excellent writer. If you're just getting into them, you can never go wrong with a best of album...I'd suggest getting "The Very Best Of The Smiths". It's the one I started out with, and it's got great songs from all of their albums. However, you could also go with "The Queen Is Dead", which is their best album.

the smiths are no longer together. they were a brit band in the 80's made up of johnny marr, morrissey and i cant remember the names of the other two. they have not made a album in yrs. johnny marr became part of a band called electronica and morrissey made a bunch of albums alone. the smiths made meat is murder, louder then bombs, the queen is dead and others. I love their music

It's an acquired taste. They're great though, especially if you're into new wave. My favorite album is Strangeways, Here We Come

The only song i really know of theirs is "How Soon Is Now",but it's an awesome song. It can be found on the compilation CD "Hatful of Hollow".
