In UK automatics are more expensive and can be hard to find in smaller cars.
They also consume more fuel.
(and maybe on a long journey you could get DVT in your left leg :-)

Taking your driving test in an automatic car you will not be able to drive a manual car this means you wood have to take the test again just to drive a manual car

nothing realy no clutch to worry about,no gear changes.an less hassel an 1 less thing 2 worrey about with the gears being done for u by the car.an if yr not botherd about driveing manual cars in the futur then go for it.

None. It's a lot easier--especially for a beginner. I've never heard of a restriction based on manual vs. automatic.

I really can't think of any disadvantages to taking the test in an auto. It gives you less to worry about and is easier to drive. I took mine in an auto many years ago.

time was that you got a restriction on your license that relegated you to driving cars with automatic transmissions only. they changed that law, in arizona anyway, shortly after i got my license and before my brother got his license. i got mine in 1974.
