I would like to also know if what is the proper process in clearing my pan. Is water an option ? Soap perhaps ?

Rinse it out with water. The acid shouldn't stick to the pan, and unless it was extremely concentrated, shouldn't affect it in any negative way. pour some baking soda on it if you are still nervous, it will negate the acid and form salt water.

What is the material of the baking pan? In any case, if you wash it off immediately with a lot of waer, that should be OK. See if any stain remains or any coating has been removed. If so, better not to use it.
