I feed my chameleon locusts and occasional wax worms as that is what he likes. m any sites say be careful of wild caught insects because of insecticides but most are ok in an area where they aren't used. How would I be able to tell whether they are used or not? I imagine in a farm area there would be more risk. Do insects stay fairly local to where you see them or do they move around a lot? I think I will stay on the site of caution and not feed him any but I would like to think it was safe for him to eat the odd spider etc if he saw them when I had him out of his enclosure.
Thanks in advance!

As a rule of thumb, if the insect is alive it has not been sptrayed with much pesticide- since that is pretty much waht the chemical is designed to prevent.

I would say the healthier the insect is acting, the less likely it is to have been exposed.

they'll fairly pass a week without nutrition. Skipping a pair of days will in all risk income them as feeding dry nutrition basically would reason digestion issues, skipping some days to enable their gut "clean out" would be advantageous! Or once you're feeling very paranoid, a pair of bits of blanched broccoli or spinach, or some products of cooked de-shelled pea will additionally help.
