Hello,
I just bought my boyfriend a collectors item for his birthday, it's an 11" x 14" Billboard Magazine ad of Genya Ravan...who he loves! Anyway, as of right now it's just a regular peice of paper but I'd love to get it laminated, and then some put in some sort of decorative frame. I need creative ideas! And also, how do I go about getitng it laminated? Where do I go for that?? Thanks for all the help in advance!

I wouldn't laminate it, only frame it. Laminating may take away from the look of it or make it harder to see (too much glare). Have it framed or do it yourself using acid free paper for the backing. You can get all of the supplies at Michaels, Hobby Lobby or online. It is not difficult and you can say you did it yourself!

You can go to a place like Kinko's and they can laminate it. Another idea is to place it (after it's laminated) into a shadow box. You can buy these sticky squares (kinda like tape) that are padded. Place these on the back of the magazine cover, and put in a shadow box (since the magazine isn't tapes directly to the back of the shadow box, it adds dimension.) You can also add other items that belong with the magazine cover (little guitars, drums, etc) into the shadow box--kinda like a collage. If you have a Hobby Lobby store around you, you can take in all the objects you have and they will put the shadow box together for you. They even let you pick out a background color. My cousin got this done after her wedding--the shadow box contained her wedding invitation, garter and a fake flower bouquet (just like the real ones she carried). Its gorgeous and the background is the exact colors of her wedding. Hope this helps you and good luck! :)

You can go to Office Max or Office Depot to get your poster laminated. You can get poster frames at craft stores. I don't know Genya Ravan
but whatever she does for a living buy some miniature items that relate and glue them around the frame.

Don't laminate it because that immediately brings the value down to zero. Not that he'd ever sell it, but why ruin it? Go to a good framer and have it framed with acid-free backing and the proper spacing in the glass. Also UV glass so it won't fade.

go to staples or Kinkos or any big supply store. They should be able to do stuff like that for you. you can make your own frame and paint it or add some dried flowers or coat the frame with colorful rice paper... they come in solid and marble colors.
