Initially the US government made a statement that it was a weather balloon. Years later it was reveal that it was a high rise balloon carrying equipment to pick up radiation wave from a far away land called Soviet Union as part of US's intelligence gathering of USSR's nuclear arsenal.
It was a spy equipment which is why US government had to cover it up, but such secrecy will always certain to create conspiracy theory, just like other US' once top secret air place such as the SR71 and F117.

I don't necessarily believe and alien crash landing occurred. My theory is that the Base is actually the place where the government filmed the Moon Landing. The technology available at the time of the supposed Moon exploration was way under par. The radiation belts that are between us and the moon would have obliterated the defenses NASA was able to provide. Why haven't we gone back?
Roswell would have the perfect terrain and seclusion to pull it off. What better way to cover up an actual conspiracy than to come up with a half-way ridiculous, argueable stunt to cover it up?

I beleive aliens may exist somewhere in the universe and probably do, but i do not think we have been visited by them, theres a great vastness of space out there, and it may very well be the case that a "warp" drive type device isnt going to be developed because it would have to break the laws of physics, so we may be one of many other planets with life and even civilizations but we will most likely all live within our own solar systems until we perish. the only exception could be communications with one another, i would love to be alive to see that. who knows what happened at roswell but i dont think extra terrestrial life is responsible for it.

I think there is something to it. Here's my reason- supposedly the bodies and/or craft were transported to Hanger 57 at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, in Dayton, Ohio. I used to know a Fire Chief at Wright Patterson. As Fire Chief, he had access to every single building on the base, in case of a fire- except for Hanger 57. He was told if Hanger 57 caught on fire, it was to burn- nobody was allowed to access it no matter what. He also observed that a number of very high level government officials, and believe it or not, a few celebrities (he didnt name whom) were taken under very heavy escort out to view whatever was in the hanger a few times. To me, that piece of the puzzle makes it seem like they did at least find something, and did have whatever it was in Dayton. Whether it was from Outer Space or not, well, who knows, there are plenty of other things they could find out there that would elicit just as much security.

No. That was a hoax dreamed up by space cadets in the context of the times - nuclear holocaust and atomic power, etc. There was a surge of that kind of interest in the world like sci-fi movies and alien invasion theorists at that time.

I Do. The fact that the government denies it,
the fact that something happened, when it allegedly did
and other things, including the claim that there are bengs of some kind there, all point to it. Plus it makes sense.

Please, get a life, anybody who believes that aliens landed anywhere here is deluding themselves.
There is absolutely no evidence that this is a fact, and if anybody can prove it I will eat my hat.
This is the stuff of comics, not serious discussion. I think you guys and girls shout start a group which has nothing to do with astronomy or space - maybe little green men?
You are not gonna learn anything worthwhile from this nonsense
