I can tell a lot about a person's intelligence by the music they listen to. Most of the time people who are not as intelligent as they could be listen to music that is very mainstream and popular and have no idea what some other less played music is like. I say most though...no AFFENCE (offense maybe?) but I think the chick above me likes some REALLY popular songs.

I don't think intelligence can be measured by the genre of music a person likes. People like all types of music. There is no specific genre that exemplifies intelligence or lack there of. I'm sure that not every intelligent person likes the same type of music.

You learn nothing about a persons intelligence from the music they like as there taste in music might change and there intelligence will not

I like everything from classical to drum and bass but am as thick as 2 short planks. So I think that it makes no difference what type of music you like.
I personally think the type of music you prefer is more linked with how emotional you are at the time of listening.

Sorry,but this Q brought Lecter Hannibal to mind.A highly intelligent individual,listening to classical music.So sad he had a psychotic personality disorder.lol No,you can't tell a persons intelligence just by the music they prefer.I think it has more to do with personality.

i dont think it has anything to do with it. If a person is into rave, do you class them as raving nutters?! Intelligence doesnt mean that you can only listen to classical music, sometimes "simple, easy listening" is relaxing and enjoyable, no matter how intelligent the person.

No, it reflects their personality more than their intellect.
You shouldn't judge people based upon these things anyway, as we all have preferences when it somes to music, but it does not mean that defines who we are.
I listen to rock music, in particular heavy metal and grunge, people might make assumptions of me based upon my choice in music, but it does not really define me or how intelligent I am. If people are worth knowing, they will get to know you and discover who you really are.
