I would say 3 or more, but I do have a crazy cat lady that lives down the road from me that has about 15 cats.

Anything over 10 is a good indication that she exhibits the crazy cat lady traits. 15 or more and she definitely possesses the crazy cat lady tendencies. But when she reaches 20 and above;
she becomes certifiable and is absolutely a bona fide crazy cat lady for life.

Crazy Cat people gauge.
Do you have more than 2 cat's per room in your house?
Do visitors have to hold my breath for longer than 20 seconds?
Does kitty litter wind up in the breakfast cereal more than 3 times a week?
If your clothes have so many cat hairs that people begin to suspect that you are a new breed of mutant?
If the smell of ammonia from urine is so strong coming from your house that the bomb squad has been there several times ...... you must be leaning towards being crazy cat lady material.

Depends... how big is the house/apartment where the cat lady in question lives?
I'm currently in a two bedroom apt - and believe the limit is 2 cats in this situation.... but my folks live in a big old house with more bedrooms and much more space they could probably have 4 of 5 cats without looking any crazier than they already do.

I'd say probably about 4 or more, especially indoor cats. My sister is a crazy cat lady. She has no kids, and she has about 10 of them, none of which have ever gone to the vet.

Anything more than three. If there are three or less, someone is a crazy cat lady if she makes clothes for them or celebrates their birthdays.
