It is generally agreed amongst heating engineers that Worcester and Vaillant are the best boilers in the country, I am biased because Worcester Bosch accredited, this means you get a first class (adherence to manufacturers instruction) and because the manufacturers know we are trained by them, they are happy to provide a 5 years guarantee. If it is installed by anybody else you will get 2 years if you apply for the second year, including if you buy your own boiler (not recommended). Now the important stuff! Vaillant had 2 recalls in the past 12 months with their boilers. The installation should be powerflushed, the system should be chemically tested on completion to ensure less than ph level 8, manufacturers insist on this, Thermostats should be fitted to at least the upstairs rooms (radiators) and a room programmable roomstat to the hallway (usually), the hall radiator should not have a thermostat, this is called interlock and aids efficiency, it is a good idea to install a Magnaclean or Boiler buddy unit to continually remove iron particles which will damage the boiler. Make sure you get all that in writing on your quote, If your engineer is any good he will analyse the flue gas/air ratio even though it is not a requirement of commissioning the 42cdi, which is the biggest boiler Worcester make and will run 2 bathrooms and a 5 bedroom heating system comfortably. If in doubt, e-mail or im me.

as a plumber i will say that vaillant is the better one at the moment as the build quality seems to just surpass a worcester. also the fault diagnosis feature on the digital display saves time if a fault does occur. i have installed both makes and am happy with both but when my worcester one ends its life (in home when i moved in) i will fit a vaillant 28kw combi.

I've always heard very good reports about worcester boilers. I don't know anything about that particular model though.
