it means those people are low lifes, have no morals, are laxy, are street people, are jail birds. They're trying to get attention because it seems that that's they only way they can get that because they have little or no education. The words they use are demeaning for the purpose of putting other people down to build themselves up because they don't want to study and do well for themselves, or even perhaps they get caught up in gangs, or because they don't know how to better themselves and are bitter. You'd do well to look past them.

What makes you think using "what the hell" or "Damn it" is any better than any other swear word... What makes you think that a swear word is bad.

Cultural context. The people that we grow up around teach us what words are acceptable and which are not.

They mean that the user's vocabulary is not very expansive. They can't find another word to use, so they use those words.
They do however, add some intensity to what they are trying to say, but if they had a halfway decent vocabulary, they could find better words to use. Also, some people are just mean and use demeaning words to build themselves up by trying to bring others down by using those words.

I think people just use these words for extra emphasis. I dont understand who made some words bad in the first place. What makes a word bad over another word? It is just a word!

Always remember and never forget; the more you curse, the less intelligent people will see you. The less you curse the more intelligent people will see you. People who use profanity are usually people have a very low education. There are other words to express your anger than those words. When I get angry, I say Christ, Mary, and Joesph.

I think it is because the have a complex of inferiority and dont have an attitude of their own so they need to hurt other people's feelings in order to feel some self esteem.
It may also be in some other cases because anger is a well known mean to bring out inner feelings like sadness, rage, frustration, etc.

I dont think the people who use those words even know that they mean. I mean, ***** [sorry for the language] means a female dog and I dont know that that evolved to like a snotty person. And f**k is just a flat out bad word used by people when they make mistakes. I have no clue who made those up, but let's hope people stop usuing them. Good Luck :]

Some curse words are used when expressing your frustration. It gets the point across that you are mad, frustrated, angry...etc. Some people use them in daily conversation because they are just words, and don't really mean anything but to emphasize their words.

While I don't agree with your "not that bad" assessment of certain profanity--I think that when people say things, and aren't immediately struck by lightning or something, it gives them a feeling of power, like they got away with something. So, they do it again.
