Now I have just read this article and am shocked to see that they are not interested in the real problems of the world. Think about it right, our act of love between two woman and two men is not that big in the the rewritten and revised bible right (please do correct me) compared to love, compassion, forgiveness, charity, KINDNESS and self worth. Instead of carrying on about how bad we are as people because we are able to love why do they not focus more energy on helping people and real life tragedies such as the floods, such as poverty, such as homelessness.

If they are so intent on getting to us gay people who are proud why don't they start within the church like weeding out paedophillic priests... and so on...

I do apologize for my anger about this.

Too often people have very little minds. They can only believe what they are told to believe. The bible states that a marriage is between a man and a woman for procreation. The bible was written by Men who had their own agenda. You marry, procreate to make more people to believe as you do.

I quit reading the bible when I got to the part that stated the reason a women experiences labor pains during birth is a punishment for consorting with the devil in the Garden of Eden. Horse feathers!! We have labor pains because something the size of a basketball is trying to force its way out of through a VERY narrow opening.

Not everybody is going to accept you whether you are gay or not. Cherish those who do and ignore those you don't.

I'm not gay - just to start with.
I am however, Anglican (Church of England),and the mainstream idea the church has, is that the FIRST people on earth, was a man and a woman. They were meant to have a relationship which could produce offspring. Two men in this sort of relationship cannot, neither can 2 women.
Therefore, the Church sees that a same sex relationship is unGodly, as it does not follow the directions made in the beginning.
Now, as I said, I am Xstn, and this is my problem with the CoE: times are changing, and although the Bible shows us, the writers at the time, were, frankly naive. In Roman times, homosexuals were crucified (fact), and so, the writers of the Gospels were influenced by their society.
I hope I answered your question.
*** I AM NOT SAYING I SHARE THE CHURCH'S VIEW ***

I don't really think that finding paedophiles in the Catholic Church will solve the proble of anti-homosexual relationships.

First of all, im not gay.
However i am from kenya so this touches on me in another way. I am very sad that there is this image of africa as intolerant to gay and lesbian people. It is an image that i accept is true in certain ways and and i apologise that it is so. For example, at least in the places i am familiar with, public displays of homosexuality simply do not exist and personally i do not know any self-proclaimed kenyan homosexuals. Many people consider homosexualism to be a 'disease' of western culture.

On the brighter side this is an issue that is currently being discussed by society and even with the out-of-work demented american priests descending on us, many people have a more open and tolerant attitude and i hope this may come to be a majority view.

I know your angry though there will always be people against these relationships - and the points you mentioned all all right and worthy - But I would say there has to be some acceptance of how other people react and respond to your lifestyle - Nothing you could do would readily change mindsets and behaviour set in motion by doctrines over many a generation and exacerbated by religion.

Move on from it and let people think what they wanna - if you are gonna be happy you have to be contented too.

all the best

Homosexuality and Christianity do not mix.

Like any other impure acts or breaches of the Commandments, sexual deviation is part of man's sinful nature. Without repentance & a change of heart it is not compatible with leading a Christian life.

Churches are already weeding out paedophillic priests and lay people. There are also Parish Protection Schemes these days.

People have to have a Police Check before they are allowed near children or vulnerable adults.

Aaaach. It gets very hard defending my religion and the millions of good Christians around the world, when bigots like this profess to speak for God. The church of man is doing the Christ a huge disservice. Maybe that is what he wants. Helps him sort us out.

All religions are based on some belief systems. Beliefs are different from logic. And the line between belief and dogma is rather thin. Society always was divided between those who want to dictate to others what they should do or should not do and others who don't want to be dictated to.

I will not comment specifically about the problem that you are writing about since I belong to a different religion and it will not be proper for me to interfere.

May be you could convert to some religion which allows what you want to do?

Your anger is understandable. My chief reaction is incredulity - is this 2007 or 1407?
What I can't understand is why any one would want to be associated with such a hateful, nasty religion. Leave them to stew in the homophobic, misanthropic mess of their own creation!

I agree with you, but there are always going to be people out there who disagree with homosexuality, just as there are still racist people in society. There is no point in you feeling angry about this as you can't change the way these people think. Their beliefs are as strongly rooted as yours are. They believe they are right, you believe you are right - so there is & never will be a solution. We should just live our lives the best we can & not give too much power to narrow minded bigots.
