It's a performance issue. Selvim Young shined in the preseason.

Bell has been permanently moved to fullback, and he'll compete with Cecil Sapp for that job. The hip is less of an issue.

Shanahan demands a "one cut and go" from the RB to take advantage of zone blocking. Bell wasn't getting it done, and Young was, simple as that.

News: Bell is expected to miss two weeks with the hip injury he suffered during Saturday's exhibition game against Dallas, the Denver Post reports.

Spin: Bell will get a second medical opinion Monday, but he is expected to miss the rest of the preseason. That should give Cecil Sapp a big leg up in the battle for the No. 2 running back job.

It really doesn't matter if Mike Bell's injury is serious or not. Selvim Young has beaten Mike Bell out to be the #2 RB behind Travis Henry.

Cecil Sapp is now FB and Mike Bell is the back up FB...Selvim Young is the back up HB. Mike Bell is now irrelevant in fantasy.
