Is a complete tip. Literally, i'm just not a tidy person at all!
I keep half-tidying it and then getting bored so it gets messy again, I want to tidy it now but I know that I will get sidetracked. Any ideas on how to keep focused on it?
Thanks in advance <3

Put music on while you tidy - time goes faster. Or, if you have a hands-free kit, talk to a friend while you do it.

Also, give yourself a reward afterwards, for example, if you tidy your room you can go buy yourself some chocolate, etc. That usually works for me!

This is the best way I know to keep your room tidy and the quickest. With the sun shining outdoors , you don´t need to be stuck inside . Do you?. Set your alarm clock to go off in 15 min´s time , see how much you can do . No need to switch your computer off , as you might need it later. All dirty clothes next to the bedroom door , along with anything else that should not be there. Never waste time taking thing´s back until you have finished. All clean clothes to the closet . Hang up your jean´s skirts. fold your jumper´s tops and so on. Stop. OOPS , Don´t forget the shores from under the bed. Now sit down and have a rest , come back to your computer and ask or answer a few more Q, but if you think you would rather carry on , then do the same again 15 min´s more and carry on the same way with the rest of your room. You will have it clean and tidy in no time at all. You don´t have to do all in one day , 15 min´s here and there And the golden rule, no matter how little cleaning you do , always reward yourself when you finish

This can be a very boring job, especially if you try to do it all at once. The trouble is, if you leave off part way through it gets messy again! Try setting aside a period of time daily, perhaps half an hour or an hour, and determine to clear one wall, or one unit, or whatever and do it thoroughly. Next day do another bit, while being strong in not cluttering the bit done yesterday. Before you know it will all be done! Then you'll need to change your habits to avoid the problem recurring.

Stick some music on and throw everything that's not where its supposed to be on your bed. That way it has to be done before you can go to bed in any sort of comfort! I tend to do my cleaning to something I can sing along to, very loudly and out of tune and once you get into it it takes no time. My job for this evening is tidying my bedroom, the rest of the house is tidy, its just my room that's a mess so you're not the only one!

None I once worked with an ex tank corps Staff Sergeant who told me that two years in the army would have done me the world of good because I was the most untidy B---ard he had ever had the misfortune to work with. That's what friends or for to tell the truth not flatter.

A story. Tthe night before I married my mother said to my intended " I owe you an apology. I have tried to make him tidy but I have failed utterley. " It was a good turn she did although I did not think so at the time. Now when my wife complains i can say, "Oi! A tougher woman than you failed to make me tidy so what chance have you got!" I must admit I have to be feeling either brave or reckless when I say it

Get a huge bin bag. Put every item of clothing that you haven't worn for a year into it. Then go through all your personal items and ornaments, shoes etc. The same applies. If you haven't used it or got it out of the drawer or wardrobe in a year, then bin it or take it to the charity shop. You will be surprised how many items you are hoarding. Get rid of them, get rid of the clutter. Be ruthless. It's the only way. Once you start seeing your way clear, you will just want to carry on. Oh and don't forget the frequent coffee breaks and chilled out music.

Why not ask a friend if they can help you and make it fun... Put on some fun music and get to work.. Get some heavy duty trash bags and start sorting things TRASH,KEEP, or DONATE... Tell you friend that he/she can go through your donate bin and keep whatever you don't want.. Maybe order some pizza and have refreshments.. I helped my friend and got a whole new wardrobe in the process ! Good luck

Hmm- If you're like me, you have a lot of clutter.

Get a friend to help you get the stuff you don't want or need out. Then you and your friend can clean it.

Afterwards, have a place for everything and put everything in it's place when you're done using it. Maintaining tidyness is a whole lot easier than getting it in the first place.

You can listen to music while doing your room. Also give yourself a time limit and try and beat the clock to get it finished, I do that with my son.

If that doesn't work, write to Ms Poppins, first name Mary. Her rooms tidy themselves. Just a click of the fingers does the trick.

I am just the same chick...My advice is;

gather all your dirty clothes in one corner
Gather all dirty cups/glasses outside bedroom door
Fold all clean clothes on the bed
Collect rubbish off floor and put in bin

Once thats done...clothes in washing machine, glasses in sink, clean clothes in wardrobe.

Then begin cleaning, start at one side of the room and work your way over
