Paul W. S. Anderson.

he's got one small success-- Resident Evil-- and a lot of really bad misses. Mortal Kombat. I won't even look his work up to tell you the rest of it.

He is especially responsible for Alien Vs. Predator, which he messed up so bad it hurts. He has no humility about what the way he stole from better material to make his 'own' story and forever denied us the chance to see the original series, written as a perfect balance of the Alien and Predator franchises, get made.

Edit: I won't knock Rob Zombie. The Devil's Rejects has merits. He was the wrong director for Halloween; he would have been great for Friday the 13th (anything with Jason instead of his mother) or the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. He likes his monsters scary on the obvious level!

JUDD APATOW! I know, I know, he's a Producer, not a Director, and I'll probably get lynched by mobs of "Knocked Up" and "Superbad" fans, but that's my opinion.

But I'll also play fair and pick a Director like the question asked:

Peter Hyams! -- Just when I think surely every production company in America has finally seen the light regarding his film resume, someone gives him another chance and he blows it again!
