Should the law take the orientation and/or preferences od bisexuals into account? Why or why not?

Please don't assume you know my views.

Thanks, for any thoughts on this.

Well, if a bisexual person wanted to be married to both a man and a woman then we would have to legalize Polygamy - didnt we say this a while back when same-sex marriage gets approved, other "alternative" lifestyle marriages would follow.

Cheers and have a ncie day

What problems are bisexuals having? Since a bisexual has an interest in either sex, they should have no problem being married to the opposite sex.

I really don't think the problem is "Marrage" I think the problem is on two people of the same sex not having the same opportunity to benefit from their partner's medical and retirment benefits. Also, a gay partner doesn't have a legal say in his hospitalized partners medical treatment if the hospitalized person is incapable.

I agree with those that say "Marrage" is between a Man & Woman - but lets be fair and allow a "Legal Civil Union" so that two couples of the same sex can benefit just like an opposite sex union.

I dont think you are ignoring them. If someone that is bisexual happens to fall in love with someone of the opposite sex, they can marry them. "Same-Sex Marriage Advocates" want them to have the right to marry someone of the same sex if they so choose.

I don't know any bisexual folks that would wish to marry a man AND a woman at the same time, and even if that were the case, then you are getting in to polygamy which is a whole other can of worms (and also illegal, though many are lobbying and striving to make it legal)

Well, bisexuals can already marry someone of the opposite sex and if they gain the right to marry someone of the same sex then they will have full equality.

So, no, I don't think they are ignoring bisexuals at all. They are working towards something that will be good for both groups.

Are you confusing bisexuals and polygamists? I suppose a bisexual might be more into a threesome than a heterosexual, but polygamy is really orthogonal to the gay marriage issue. Well except to those that make "slippery slope" arguments and say that if gay marriage is allowed then next thing you know so will polygamy, bestiality, etc.

I know some bisexuals who are just looking for the best partner for them of either gender. Some do want to get married, some don't but they should be afforded to option to marry someone of the same gender if they so desire. Bisexuality doesn't mean that someone is having sex with multiple partners.

well lets pretend that same-sex marriages become allowed then the person could choose to marry either a man or a woman so i don't see how a bi person is being left out as they have the choice on who to marry however if you mean they should be able to one of each because they prefer both then that should be referred back to your other question on polygamy

If gays gain the right to marry, then bisexuals will be able to marry/partner with whom they please also.

I personally don't care what the outcome is. Sexuality is not something that should be flaunted outside of the bedroom. Call me a prude or old fashioned, but that's the way I was brought up; It's no one's business but your own.

I think the question should be reversed......."Why are Bi-sexuals rejecting same sex marriages?" We all know that many bi-sexuals speak out against gays so their same sex orientation will not be exposed.

When in reality, they should be in favor of same sex marriage, so that if they do meet a person of the same gender that they choose to marry, they will be able to.

There is nothing to consider.

Bisexuals can marry the opposite sex already, and if same sex marriage is legalized, then they can marry the same sex too.

"Same sex marriage defeats the human nature of reproduction and it might be bad to have no next generation."

Errm... it might be good actually. World pop. 6.6 billion.
PS. Less than 1% of the population is truly bisexual.
