Someone's question inspired this question,
People are b*tching about others asking for stars, I don't generally do that but why be so stingy and be like "I hate it when people ask for stars". If it will put a smile on someone's face why not give it to them. It's not like they're worth anything. It's just brightening someone's day so why be stingy with them. Spread the joy!

I always try to give them. But for some reason, they never register. The little loading text goes under the blank star and my computer crashes. So I don't give stars any more. If I like a question, I'll email or say in my answer that I appreciate the question.

I'd say give your local rest home or hospital a phone call, speak to the appropriate person and see what they'd like to have happen. Think about their suggestions, personalise it a bit, and then get it all going. We've visited an old folk's home in the past to sing, but we also gave out home-made biscuits with messages of cheer attached. It's very rewarding for everyone.

I don't mind giving stars but sometimes I forget since I read the question and want to get my answer done. Then I forget to go back and add a star.
