there's still some varnish...but some novel scratches & some deep scratches, but i love 'em...whats best to clean and should i also "shine" with something else...thanks

Try using "Murphys Oil soap" You buy it in the cleaning section. You add a little to water and cleans them. However I think you do not want to totally drench the floor. like a sponge mop that is wrung out. should help.

Using a water based product will do nothing but, eventually warp the floors.. So, vacuum them really well and use a microfiber dust mop you can dampen slightly the pad and at least remove any surface dirt.. To get shine well you might want to have the floors refinished since any product you use will just attract dust/dirt... Good luck
