I believe I saw a news clip on CNN or MSNBC about some website claiming that their music is able to produce some weird effects on either the human brain or body. And I am NOT referring to the infamous, so callled "brown note" either.

I did recently see a piece about the use of music for healing in hospitals and geriatric care centers, as well as birthing centers and birthing rooms. There has always been the knowledge of this...the ancient Greeks knew that certain "modes" would induce feelings of peacefulness, well-being, gentleness and even sleep when used or played for people and animals. I believe one of these modes was called "The Dorian Mode". Some of the others are: the Phyrigian Mode, the Aeolian mode, the Hypodorian Mode, the Hyperdorian Mode and the Mixolydian Mode. Study of this is truly fascinating stuff if you're interested in both music and healing. Like it is said, "Music hath charms to soothe the savage beast..." It also depends upon how open, willing and suggestible one is.

In theory, you could get into a state of intoxication from music.... but it wouldn't be a forced one. I don't think any kind of music could force anyone to enter a state like that, but a person could enter an almost intoxicated state with music if they wanted to. It would be similar to the idea of mental suggestion, but it could happen.

If you get into a certain type of music, you can really work with your emotions and get into almost any type of state.... energized, relaxed, emotional, calm, etc. All it would take is a willing mind and the right "mood music", and you could probably induce a state of intoxication... it wouldn't last longer than you want it to, though (like if you were interrupted).

Well, I don't know the specific site that you referred to above, but I know that music can invigorate and exhilarate or relax, can make us happy or sad etc. Thus sound and music has great influence on emotions.

There is some truth to it. All depends on how and what you believe.
