Okay, I'll take this one piece by piece.
1-Sox are alone in third place for all time WS wins.
Yanks-26
Cards-10
Sox-6
5 teams-5
2-Yankees fans don't root for them because we've won 26 times, we root because we know the game and the history and it's bred into us. Yankees fans are the most loyal and knowledgeable in the game. I have no way of backing that statement up, but just ask the 4 million fans who annually attend games. We sell out the majority of our games in a 54,000 seat stadium. The Sox do sell all their games out, yes, but Fenway holds only 35,000 people.
3-No we didn't win any WS until 1923, but since then we've won more than double any other team. And since 1918, we've won 26 times more championships than the Sox.
4-2004 was a fluke, in that it has never happened before and may never happen again. The Yanks choked, yeah, but 1978 the Sox choked, 1986 the Sox choked, I mean every team chokes. It was a fluke, it won't happen again, at least in our lifetime.
5-You did want A-Rod before he became a Yankee. Don't even pretend that you didn't. Everyone wants A-Rod, he's the best player in the game. And don't compare Mike Lowell to him either. Lowell doesn't belong in the same breath as Rodriguez, who is a better fielder and hitter than Lowell would ever dream of being.
6-Yeah, you are 7 games up, but what does that matter? If we take the wild card, then we're both in the playoffs. And the Yanks have proven that they can beat the Sox, they've dominated the latter part of their contests this season, especially the 3 game sweep less than a week ago. The Yankees, player for player, are a better team than the Sox.
It is too bad that the Yanks got off so slowly this year, or else they might be up 15 games on the Sox, who knows? But all that matters is that, come October, all records from the season are erased. So stop gloating over a probable AL East title and wait for October.
And one other thing, please remember this:
"It is better for people to think that you're a moron, then for you to open up your mouth and remove all doubt."

I'll play.
Yes, the Red Sox were one of the most dominant teams in Basball - 9 decades ago. Yes the Red Sox won a WS in 2004 but it was a year in which they didn't even win their division and were down 0-3 in the ALCS before going on to sweep the rest of their games. That came in the middle of a run of finishing BEHIND the NY Yankees for 14 straight years. They failed again to win the division the next year and went nowhere in the playoffs. So, you could say that the Red Sox had a dynasty which lasted all of 8 games.
The Yankees on the other hand since the Red Sox started sucking, have won multiple WS Championships in every decade since then except the 1980s. They have 4 more chances to win this decade and since they are on a run of 12 straight playoff appearances I wouldn't count them out. Compared to the Red Sox 8 game dynasty, the last time the Yankees won it was 3 in a row and they were one out away from making it 4 in a row which would match a feat done by them TWICE before and by no other team. That team, instead of being an 8 game wonder actually won 14 consecutive WORLD SERIES games. They finished one of those seasons SEVENTY-FIVE GAMES OVER 500.
Everyone in Boston is screaming about how the Yankees suck now when they going to lose the division for the first time in a decade. Meanwhile they are still in position to take the wildcard, which is something the Red Sox could occasionally hope for during this era of Yankees domination.
So, that's what I have to say to you.
You guys have a good team but don't bring your trash talk to the Yankees until you have something to back it up with.

Not every Yankee fan says stuff like that. I don't, at least. I don't think that '04 was a fluke either. The Red Sox were a good team that year, as they are this year. 1918 was a long time ago, and near the beginning of the MLB. Look how far the Yankees got. Also, Boston really wanted A-Rod, and there's a rumor that they are waiting for him to opt out of his contract, so they could sign him. Lowell is most likely leaving the Red Sox this year, and he has done everyhing right for the team. A-Rod is playing very well, too. Most Yankee fans don't even say Red Sux, and most Red Sox fans don't say Skanks (for Yanks). Not every fan is alike. I wouldn't judge every Red Sox fan, just because of what a lot of them are saying about the Yankees. I have respect for th Red Sox, but that's sometimes a hard thing to do because of the Red Sox fans I encounter.

Take a chill pill dude, not relax & take a deep breath. Better now. Wow, you tied for fourth in World Series titles, that's not too bad but who is & will always be at the top of that list THE NEW YORK YANKEES. I don't think neither team sucks but that truth is both teams hate each other & the fans will always say the other team sucks. You say A-Rod sucks, but would you say that if he were to sign with Boston. I don't think so. People will always hate the Yankees, not just Red Sox fans but baseball fans in general. I still would rather have A-Rod or Jeter versus Ortiz or Ramirez. Jeter & A-Rod will give you 162 games. Ortiz or Ramirez doesn't. Root for your Red Sox all you want but always remember, the Yankees, year in & year out will always have a contending team, oh & by the way, the Yankees have won more World Series tiltle than the Red Sox, Indians & Tigers, combined. That's for all the Tiger fans who say the Yankees suck. 2006, their first winning year since when?

You asked for it. First of all, I'm glad to see you acknowledged our graduation to the third grade. This is a higher grade then 90% of the lobodimised Redsux fans.
Second, Why are you bragging about world series wins that your Grandfather wasn't alive to see? You idiots sold The Babe to The Yankees, for what? Money for a broadway musical. So after you sent The Babe to N.Y, you sent the money you got for him back to us.
Third, You wanted A-Rod. Don't try to deny it. The Redsux offered him allot of money to bring him to Boston. The owners just convenantly forgot to buy him out of his existing contract. The A-Rod offer was made so the owners could convince the stupid Redsux fans they were working to build a better team, knowing that the offer would never be approved by the league. The owners knew you would blindly blame A-Rod, and The Yankees, and they were right.
And finaly, even a third grader knows that 26>6. Your actualy bragging how great you are for winning 6 championships (5 of which no one alive remembers) while putting down the team who won 26. You sound like one of those American Idol rejects who embarasses himself on national T.V., and afterwards walks away insisting he's better then last years winner.
Your pathetic, I could rip you apart for hours, but lucky for you, that's all you get for 2 points.

I d rather have 26 years of winning than 86 years of losing.
Your Red Sox are in 1st place right now, and I respect them for that, but there is always a next season, right?
Besides, Yankees have won 8 out of 15 games against the Sox, and if it is any indication, the Red Sox don't want any piece of the Yankees in the playoffs.
Have fun.

? You make you're self look like a idiot saying ''Why u say we suck? We are tied for 4th more world series?'' and then you got 1903,1912,1915,1916,1918..............2004! ROFL.
Look at you arguing about something that happened over 70 OR EIGHTY YEARS AGO.
Babe Ruth yes was the turning point of our franchise but we didnt win 26 rings with him.
I'm sorry but you seem kind of stupid trying to firgure out saying why the Red Sox suck.
You dont suck. Yankee - Red Sox hate will go on and on and people will always say you suck.
And I bet if A-Rod was on you're team you would be happy but wont shot it to anybody. Admit it.
? You're best comeback is 'Check The Standings.' We could have done that in '06 but we didnt. We had other things to brag about.
You are sad. You sit here typing about why the Yankees are so bad and how Boston is so good and trying to figure out why Yankee fans say you guys suck.

What we've got to say to you now is that 26 > 1. Your one championship since World War I does not top our 26. You're like these Met fans who cling to '69 and '86 (did I mention the Bill Buckner year? Oops) and say their 2 means more than our 26.
It was the same when you were clinging to the '67 "impossible dream" and '75, to the point where people had to say, "Wait a minute, the Sox haven't won since 1918, so they must've lost Game 7, so why are they making a big deal about the Fisk homer in Game 6?"
You don't want A-Rod? He shows up 162 times a year. How many times a year is Manny going to be Manny in time for the game, rather than being Manny somewhere else? And none of our pitchers ever tried to kill one of your 72-year-old coaches, either.
Ted Williams was NOT "the greatest hitter who ever lived." Babe Ruth was. Says who? Says Ted Williams, in his book "Ted Williams' Hit List." Ted also threw Johnny Pesky overboard (what you kids would now call "threw him under the bus") when he said Phil Rizzuto was the difference between the Yanks and the Sox winning all those Pennants. Tony Conigliaro wasn't your Mickey Mantle, he was your Joe Pepitone, a local kid who cared more about being a star than about being a good ballplayer, and had he not gotten beaned would have disappointed you the same way. Jim Lonborg could have had a week's rest and he wouldn't have beaten Bob Gibson in Game 7. Thurman Munson was a better catcher and a better hitter than Carlton Fisk. Ron Guidry in '78 was better than Pedro Martinez in '99 -- and not just because he actually won the Pennant. Wade Boggs and Roger Clemens won with us, not you. Jorge Posada's ears have won 4 rings, Nomar Garciaparra's nose none. "The Bronx Is Burning" was a better movie than "Fever Pitch" and had fewer mistakes, and was actually true. Billy Joel outrocks Aerosmith. "New York, New York" actually makes the City sound like the only real place to be, while the only thing "Dirty Water" tells you about Boston is that there used to be a midnight curfew that nobody observed anyway, so it's toally useless. And "Tessie" was a whore.
Also, learn how to write. People like you make people like us scoff at the idea that Boston is "the Athens of America."
THAT is what I have to say to you and yours now.

I'm a Red Sox fan. Have been all of my life. YOU do not represent me as a fan.
When I hear the crowd chanting "Yankees Suck", or see the countless t-shirts and/or bumper stickers saying it, it's embarrassing.
The truth is, as a baseball team, they don't suck. I don't like them at all but I can't deny talent...regardless of the team. You can't either, and your comparisons of all-time WS champs is kind of embarrassing too. Sorry. I love the Sox...why don't you just leave it alone and let their performance speak for itself? It's just not necessary to spout this crap. Especially considering the answers it's attracted (there are MANY jerk-off Yankee fans as we all know). Don't invite it. Just let the team kick-*ss. Not only are the Red Sox SEVEN games ahead of NY, NY is ONE LOSS away from even a chance at the wild card. So, shhh!

Perhaps you should take a basic English grammar course. I've noticed the exceptional challenge you've faced putting this, "message" across to the public. Perhaps too, an anger management class would be beneficial as well. You have serious issues my friend. You certainly don't come across as the sharpest tool in the shed either, but then what can we expect from a "Red Sox fan".
