Card #37 of that year's Traded set. Back in the 1980s, some of the card companies, Topps included, would issue a small, late-year set, including players who had been traded (of course) or called up earlier in the season.

In the case of 89 Topps card 37T, that would mean the card was issued in the Traded Set.

Topps issues a final set at the end of the year called "Topps Traded". It includes Rookie call ups, Draft Picks, and players who were traded during the season.

Other letters designate inserts or special sets. For instance, WM1 is a Wal-Mart only set, inserted as a special 3 card pack per box in Topps cards puchased at Wal-Mart the last couple of years.
