Ichthyology is the branch of zoology devoted to the study of fish. This includes skeletal fish (Osteichthyes), cartilaginous fish (Chondrichthyes), and jawless fish (Agnatha). "Ichthyology" came from the Greek word "ikhthu" which means fish; and logos which means knowledge.
