The food isn't the greatest, i wouldn't say that it's bad though. The prices are pretty good so i guess it's decent for what you pay.

Personally, I have not eaten at an Applebees. But most of my friends that have eaten there say that the food is very "blah" and that there are much better places. I think some of the people that like Applebees tend to be people that do not like much seasoning on their food, so where I live, Applebees is merely considered so-so. There are much better restaurants to eat at. I think it also depends on the location of the Applebees as to the quality and taste of their food. I happen to like Chili's because they usually season their food pretty well. As for the person who recommended Olive Garden, be prepared for a long wait most of the time. It is very often crowded at a good location and the wait can take up one hour. Too long for me to stand and wait.

I have eaten there. I have to agree with some here that the service is not always up to par, but usually okay. I think the food there is good most of the time, but not always consistent. I would say everything goes smooth 8 times out of 10. Are those good odds?
Since your husband says it's terrible, maybe you could go with a girlfriend for lunch and try it out for yourself. I like their Kahlua Mudslides- go for the mucho sized one. It's double the size and only $1 more. I also like the sirloin steak with grilled shrimp and a parmesian cheese sauce on top- tasty.

I think that it really depends on the location. I have had a lot of experience in eating out, and I like applebees. I don't think that I have ever had a bad dish there. Their salads are really good, especially the pecan crusted chicken salad. Their three cheese pasta with chicken is good too. If you are looking for a classy place then applebees is not the best choice, but for good food and a relaxed environment it will do.

It really depends on the Applebee's you visit. I live in a small town and we always get great service and the food is always great at our Applebee's. When we lived in the St. Louis area we ran across a few Applebee's that didn't have great service, but the food is always good. When my parents travel they always look for an Applebee's to eat at since they know they will be getting something good to eat. Why don't you go to Applebee's one day for lunch without your husband? Then you could try it. Good luck!

you mean Applebees? Not sure where you're at, but the ones here in Mississippi are so so, used to have a good peppercorn steak, but not sure if they still serve that.
The bourbon street steak is pretty good with the garlic potatoes. Not the best in the world though. Maybe a place you and a gf can stop at while shopping ??

Have eaten there a couple of times. Find them pricey for the quality. Now only eat there if I'm with a group and that is where the rest want to go.

The food is ok. Service has usually been bad when I was there, but I guess that would depend on the place. They have good mixed drinks though.
