I heard that inside the mellon arena for the penguins many players say that the visitors dressing room is not up to NHL standards. What exactly is wrong with the visitors changing room ? Is it that bad?

Neither dressing room at Mellon Arena is anything to write home about. Both are very small by today's NHL standards without a lot of the amenities (no workout room, etc) that other arenas have.

People forget that the Mellon Arena is the oldest arena still in use, and the workout regimen of players today is very different than it was in 1967. Players and equipment are bigger today as well, and the Mellon arena has smaller stalls.

I'm trying to find a youtube video but I believe either montreal or toronto went behind the scenes of the visitors locker room. They complained that while they get massage people are using the urinals right there and then they get real close to each other in the showers. I'll try so hard to find the video because it was funny in a sad way.

WOW
This arena is so old it's a sad, sorry looking thing. I went there for a game and I wanted to cry. It's like stepping into a time machine and going back 30 years or something. Thank GOD their getting a new arena. And yes, if it was built so long ago it would be held to the standards back then and now is horribly outdated. I don't think anyone would like being in a shoebox with 25 other sweaty guys.

It's not, it is small and cramped, i can see why players don't like it...but what the hell, the building was opened in 1961 and was originally a concert hall...I'm sure opposing players can put up with the meager accommodations for 2 more seasons until the new Arena is built...

The Arena is extremely old so both locker rooms are pretty bad.

But I still love my Igloo.
