Well since you don't know how your son going to be toward the game console let eliminate the 360 and the ps3. To much money and if he doesn't really play the game console your going to want to hurt him. Second I would go with the ps2 or the Nintendo Wii. Ps2 has a huge selection of games and their are going to be more ps2 games. So there isn't any worry about no new games coming out for the ps2 because their planning on still making games for the ps2. The Wii now has a great selection of games but alot of the games are sports game and i don't know how your son will react to the same game play. Alot of time kid get tired of the same game but their is mario that coming out and that will be a game he will really enjoy. But if he doesn't really care for sports then I would just get him the ps2 and start from there. Think of it as a little investment to see how your son will react to the game console, like i said before you don't know if he going to be a real gamer or not. He might get it but rather play outside and play it on a raining day...a ps2 cost about 100 bucks cheapest console and probably your best bet as of right now.

PS2 has the most games of all the system, but developers are slowly moving away from making games for the PS2. In about a year or 2, there will probably not be any new games for the PS2.

PSX (PS1) is pretty much considered dead. There are no new games for it. It was a really good system, right behind the PS2.

XBox (XBX) is also considered dead because there will be very few new games for it, if any.

XBox 360 has been around for almost 2 years now, so it has the most games compared to the PS3 and Wii since they came out 1 year after the 360 came out. The major difference between any system from it's previous generation is better graphics. The 360 has so much better graphics than the XBX.

The PS3 is a good system, but it's rather pricey for a 10 year old. It's 500/600 bucks for the 60/80 gb model. The 360 is also rather pricey for a 10 year old. It's 280/350/450 bucks for a core/premium/elite). Don't worry about the different configurations. They're like cars. Some of extras that makes it more expensive, while the cheaper ones are missing some options.

I would not recommend a PS3 or 360 for your 10 year old because 1. it's rather pricey for those 2 systems. 2. most of the PS3 and 360 games are catered to teens to adults.

I recommend you get the Wii for your son because 1. it's the cheapest of the 3 next-gen consoles. 2. Nintendo's target audience are kids and the casual gamers. 3. If you get an extra Wii-mote and an extra Nunchuck, you can play with your son. You may not be a gamer, but that's the great thing about the Wii, a casual gamer can have fun because of the party games (Mario Party 8, Wii Sports, Elebits, etc.). Just look on the back of the Wii game case, and it'll tell you how many people can play the game. Look for something that has 2 to 4 if you want to play with your son.

The 3 main systems at the moment are Nintendo Wii, XBox 360 and Sony Playstation 3 (which superceeded the Nintendo GameCube, the XBox and Playstation 2, respectively).

Forget about the Playstation 3. Although easily the most technologically advanced system, it's still not worth the money and there are very few good games available for it. If you have a high definition TV then it makes for a cheap BluRay player, but that's it.

Nintendo Wii is the cheapest and aimed more at his demographic. There aren't that many good games available at the moment, but even so it's very, very popular due to its unique and innovative game play. There are 100+ games coming out for it over the next year or so, and it's the kind of console that adults and kids of all ages can enjoy. The vast majority of games for this system are family-friendly, but the online component is rather sketchy.

XBox 360 is the most popular machine amongst teenage boys and this is an important consideration given your sons age. The games are generally targeted to that age bracket and therefore tend to be racing, first person shooters etc. From a technology view-point it's about halfway between a PS3 and a Wii. The single most important feature of the XBox 360 though is XBox Live: every single game on XBox 360 has to be able to connect to the internet so that people can compete against their friends. This results in a lot of online interaction between owners of that console by way of both competitive and cooperative online play. Also the 360 has some excellent games available for it.

So in summary: forget the PS3. He'll probably get a lot more use out of a 360 and will grow into it more easily, especially if he has friends who also own the 360. Wii is cheaper and will make a terrific console for the entire family. He'll initially get a lot of enjoyment out of it, but it may not hold his attention for as long as you'd like and his interest may wane as he hits those teenage years.

Either the Wii or the PS2 would be great choices for your son. There is a wide range of games available for the PS2 which would be suitable for him. The Wii is also a great console, a little more expensive than the PS2, but it is a brand new console, it has internet connectivity (if you have internet access and are willing to buy 500 wii points for the internet browser) the wii games are great fun.
The PS3 and 360 are way too expensive for a first console, when you dont know if he will enjoy gaming and the original x-box is becoming obsolete and games are hard to find.
So to sum up, the best choice would probably be a wii, with the PS2 a close second (only because nobody knows how long new games are going to be made for it, now that the PS3 is here)

with him being only ten and not much of a gamer then i would go with the wii, its the cheapest of the most recent consoles and from what i have seen and heard it seems to attract the younger crowd, while the ps3 and the xbox 360 seems to attract the older crowds of people......out of the ps3 and the xbox 360 i would go with the 360, it is next in line as cheapest and has tons of great games out for it (while the ps3 doesn't) honestly the only thing i like about the Ps3 is that it plays Blu-Ray movies and thats about all i use mine for....good luck on you decision!

You should probably get him a wii. It is the most fun gaming ever. At least you move a bit while playing. Experts are calling it a revolution in gaming. I would buy a wii instead of an xbox. he can play with all those other system when he's big. Most of the fun games are for teens and adults. wii is much more fun for his age. And the plus side is, you can play with him too..And its fun.

I would say to get the DS. It's portable, so if he's bored on a long car ride, it's great. Also, the game prices are usually about $34.99 or under. The price of the DS is about $125.00, and you can even buy it at Shop Rite.

approximately Kung Fu Panda. Which point are you on? you're possibly in basic terms doing something incorrect, as this may be a teenagers sport... approximately MW2. 2 months of playtime capacity 1440 hours of playtime. I doubt you performed that plenty. in basic terms watch your killcams, use the weapons which you're good at, and use chilly-blooded with a AT4/Stinger/Javelin to shoot down enemy killstreak rewards. in basic terms save enjoying, and eventually you will get extra beneficial.
