Is it possible for a woman to rape a man? What would it entail?

2007-09-04 02:36:41 · 18 answers · asked by Anonymous in Social Science Gender Studies

The only way I can see a man being raped is by an unattractive woman. There's no way if she is attractive (cause the guy will want her). Rather it is seduction, and a soulish rape that a woman may inflict (especially if he was married or something). A woman just can't hold a man down to force him. Rape is forceful. The only way would be for the woman to knock him out, drug him, or overcome him with male, or plenty of femal friends. And, you can get an erection if someone fondles you enough; the blood will get flowing, even if you don't want it to, as long as they get it up, and then begin to have sex with you. A man would feel raped in this way, if the girl was horrid looking, or the woman was attractive, but the man was happily married. It seems different. I haven't heard of kind of girl that would do this. They are not usually naturally dominating. Men rape, and like anal sex and stuff due to the dominating nature of it. By the way, I don't.

Thanks.

Yes it can definitely happen! You really only hear about the most common rape situations, by this I mean the ones that involve a man raping a woman or a man raping another man, but truthfully both women, and men, can be victims of rape and both women and men can perpetrate rape. Both women and men can be guilty of coercing others to have sex with them in other ways. It happens among heterosexuals, homosexuals, and bisexuals, no matter the sexual preference! It is VERY important for anyone to understand that sexual assault is any UNWANTED sexual contact. This includes forced vaginal intercourse, but it can also refer to forced anal or oral sex, including any amount of penetration with a body part (like a penis or a hand) or an object (like a bottle or a stick). It can also mean forced touching or groping of sexual body parts, like a girl's breasts or vulva, or a guy's penis, anus, or scrotum.

Just remember this:

Women and men can be violent or aggressive.

Women and men can be pressured, coerced, or forced into sex, especially when alcohol or other drugs are used.

Hopefully this answers your question. Just keep in mind that although it is rarely heard of, men CAN be victims of rape as well.

We don't see that because it is less frequent that it happens to men than women (of those reported that is.) It isn't socially acceptable for a man to come out and say that he was raped by a woman. To be brought down to an extreme point of vulnerability by a person of lesser-privileged status would be more embarrassing. People might say "You let a woman do that to you?", which would be an insult to the victims sense of masculinity. Also, commenting on previous answers, men do not rape because of more sex drive. Rape is not about the sex, it's about domination and power.

I'm pretty sure that standard vaginal intercourse with an unwilling man is pretty tough to pull off. But, of course, when I think of a woman raping a man, I don't think of anything quite so nice.

No, I think of the man being 'artificially penetrated' against his will. THAT puts the idea of a woman raping a man a bit more in perspective. So far, all these answers have dealt with the erection. Well, the 'female erection' (engorgement of the clitoris and labia) doesn't seem to play into the rape of women, so why should the woman on man version?

No no, I think man-rape and I think penetration, and I feel that puts the idea a little more into perspective. Rape is an awful crime, either way, and shouldn't really be tossed around so lightly.

Yes, a woman can rape a man. Usually she doesn't use physical strength but forces him in other ways. For instance, I heard of an instance where a woman told a man that she would tell everyone that he was gay unless he had sex with her.

Oh, and Snarky, physical arousal does not equal consent to have sex.

I think what you are asking is the emotional response of the man.
Hypothetical example:
If you take the average man and say you got a group of powerful women. If they overpowered him and then stimulated him (or predosed him with viagra) and managed to somehow have intercourse with him (sounds like somebody's fantasy) then that would technically be rape (legally I don't know). But emotionally would the man feel the same as a woman who had undergone such an experience? Personally I don't think so based on women's stories of rape being the worst crime against them.
But then again I believe that all women are different. Some women would be less affected by 'rape' than others. Such as a prostitute or nymphomaniac. compared to most women.

Is it possible? Yes and No(a qualified no)
Yes technically. No not emotionally.

It's possible but very rare.

Mainly, the difficulty lies in the man having to prove that he took reasonable steps to avoid being raped. He would most certainly have to prove that he was not able to physically stop the attack, and in most cases, that could be difficult.

Of course the World is a large place, full of lots of people, so no doubt a woman is raping a man right now somewhere on the planet.

1. If he's 13, and she is his 28-yr-old teacher, even if he's physically willing and able - that's rape and child molestation.

2. I saw this in a TV episode. The husband was drugged and didn't know what he was doing and his estranged wife at the encouragement of his deranged mother raped him. Then wifey charged HIM with rape. Eventually she was killed in an accident and mama was sent off to a nursing home so it worked out okay.

The process would be relatively simple IF you go beyond the basic intercourse for your definition of rape.

She pulls out a gun, sticks it to your head and tells you to give her the tonguejob of a lifetime or she'll clean your skull out.

She can also forcibly peg you (female on male dildo/anal intercourse).

Of course, but another stereotype is that "Oh men love ANY kind of sex so he'd be glad to be raped."

And that's the reason that if a man was raped, no one would believe him.
