They do hav Eli but Eli hasn't proven anything yet. I think the Giants should pick up Leftwhich and have Eli and Leftwhich share the starting job in the beginning and battle each other for the full time job. Whoever wins it can be traded or released either during or after the season. What do you guys think??

The giants arent even thinking about it. They have Eli Manning, they're busy worrying about michael strahan, and they are not even interested

No, they probably will not get him. The G-men could definitely use a reliable backup, but Leftwich has the crazy idea that he can still start somewhere, and the Giants are set on Eli. He'll probably go somewhere where he will compete for a starting job or will have the chance to next season (much like Culpepper did in Oakland). He'll look for a team with an aging starter, and an unproven backup.

They have way too much money invested in Eli for them to shake things up like that. He makes too much to be a back up. Giants will just suffer until his contract is up or they can trade him.

Then again, I don't know when his contract is up. If its after this year Leftwhich could be a good idea.

No offense Chris, but this is a typical "knee-jerk" reaction whenever a big name is released in sports, almost every fan (at least those who have QB issues in this instance) are probably chomping at the bit to see if Leftwich would look great in their respective teams' uniform......the truth is, the guy was let go for a probably a pretty good reason.....now does that mean the guy cant play anymore, HECK NO, it just means he obviously wasnt the right fit for the Jags anymore and before we go sticking him in another "mismatched system" , he should just take his time and see which team he could actually fit well with

Any team that would think that signing Leftwich is an upgrade must really have problems at quarterback.

As bad as Eli Manning has played to date, he is a hell of a lot better than Leftwich. Just ask Del Rio.

The Giant's don't need Manning. This season should be a breakout season for him, you don't want to ruin his game by adding a distraction to the mix. Manning needs this year to prove he's in the same status as his brother (Payton), Carlson Palmer and Tom Brady. They invested too much into Manning that letting would hurt the franchise for years to come.

No chance...Eli is the man. He hasnt played that poorly to where they would need to look for another QB. Plus they have too much invested in him already. I think Atlanta is looking to pick up Leftwich.

As bad as Eli can be he is still better than Leftwich. A team is going to have to have a pretty bad QB before they go after Leftwich.

Eli may not have proved anything yet but he is still young. Leftwich is getting older and hasn't proved anything either. I would take young and improving over older and still not that good any day.

No way he'll go to the Giants they had a rock steady QB already. More than likely he'll end up in either KC, Minn, ATL, Oak, Tenn, or Balt.
