If a person is crying & asking for sympathy. Most of the people sympathize with her, but one or two people respond harshly by passing comments like "Get out of here! This is not the place for sensitive people"

Are they correct, or just tasteless?

It's tasteless. They should find out why the person is crying before they pass judgement.
