theyll do pretty much any thing you want but most people charge any where from10.00 to 26.00 an hour.make sure there insured in case they steal or break something. i use to clean houses for a living some people i use to charge by the job and someby the hour depended on the job .if it was simple cleaning dusting, vacuming, mop floors.etc.id figure out how long it would take and charge a flat rate/.if they wanted different things done each time i would charge by the hour cuz i didnt know how long it would take.id supply the cleaning material except for vacum. if you want certain cleaning stuff i have the customer supply it and it would stay at there home.i would do laundry for some people like towels and bedding not personel laundry.if your not messy id do it once a month.i use to clean hardwood floors.you can look in yellow pages for like a marrymaids co. or other cleaning co.

I am not sure what you would have in your area. You can always check the help for hire in your local paper. As individuals they may even do more than what some other companies would do. There is always Merry Maids that does the general cleaning. If you have carpets to do then Stanley Cleaners. i am not sure what kind of maintanence you are needing on your hard wood floors, if it is general cleaning, then a maid could do it, but if you are thinking of stripping and resurfacing, then you might check with a floor store and they may have some contacts for you. You may find individuals to come in and organize, but none that i know of that are a chain. Cost will also depend on the area that you are in. I know you can get some general cleaners for around $10. an hour and up. For me, It is worth it to have someone come in an do my floors and carpets. I do everything else, however sometimes I think it would be good for me to have an organizer come in once a month. I am a long arm quilter and designer, it would be helpful to have someone orgainize and restack my fabrics, threads, patterns , etc. Ultimately it will be up to you how you want to spend your money or what is worth your time.

I don't know what country you're in, but I have experience from both sides of that fence. I've also heard the sales pitch that a company's estimator has given people. Usually, the more often you have the company come to clean, the less it costs per visit. If they come every 2 months, you'll pay a lot more PER VISIT than if they came once a week.
Most companies have a basic routine that they go through in terms of what is a 'standard' cleaning; usually they offer many services in an "a la carte" fashion. like $5 per ceiling fan, etc., because not everyone has ceiling fans; not everyone has wall to wall carpeting, etc. Some will organize, but that's getting into a slightly different area and is more personal.
Make sure that they are bonded, licensed and insured. What most of these companies do, in my experience, is to hire a bunch of Latina women, 4 or 5 of whom will descend on your house with their own vacuums, rags, cleaning supplies, etc. I don't know what those women get paid, nor do I know if they are "legal" or not...you might want to delve further into that, that's up to you.
Generally, because there are 4 or 5 of them, they finish rather quickly in the average 1,100 to 1,500 sq. ft. home, maybe 2 hours or so...but that's 8 to 10 "man-hours." Then they're off to the next job. They probably do 4 or 5 homes in a day; it's hard work, so the turnover is fairly high: and there's the rub: you can't leave valuables, keys, cameras, jewelry, silver, coins, guns, etc., laying around, so you wind up having to do some putting-away before they arrive. This is not to say that they are all thieves, but shiny/valuable stuff can test the larceny in most people's hearts.
It's hard to let strangers into your personal space. Me, I'd say that if the cost of a pro is high enough to motivate you to do it yourself instead, then that's just dandy!

I had a cleaning service when we lived in Maryland called the Cleaning Authority. They came every two weeks at about $120 a visit. They clean, they do not organize. They clean every room, floors, sinks, counters etc. They dust and mop hardwoods as they did all hard floors. This company would not clean anything over their heads so they did not do chandeliers or two story window sills. They also rotated each room for more detail cleaning each visit. They did a great job.

Cleaning people will do anything for an added fee. I know people that have them do their laundry and I also know people who just have them do the basics such as dust.
Having a cleaning person is a huge help especially if you have a busy schedule. However, their are two things to keep in mind. First off, you have to clean for the cleaning people. They will not pick up clutter, so you have to have everything put away for them to clean. Second, no one will clean the way you do.
I have never heard of a cleaning person organize, but again for money I am sure they will do it. Costs really depends on the area you live and the size and complexity of your home. It could cost you $60 it could cost you $200 depending on what you want done. Their is a website called servicemagic which I have used to get estimates on various home projects. They also have cleaning services and you can write about your home, what you want done etc.. It is so easy, cleaning people will answer you and come to your home for estimates.
It is very important before hring to get references. Some things to ask are is the person home with the cleaning person comes or are they at work or out doing errands. If they are home, ask them if they would be comfortbale leaving them in their home alone. Also, ask about how well and how long it takes them to clean. My wife and I had a two bedroom apartment and we learned the hard way, to check references first. the lady we had was great she was dependable and very trustworthy but it took her almost four hours to clean a two bedroom apartment. So it came down to opportunity cost, where she was coming on weekends so four hours of our weekend was taken up. We eventually let her go and cleaned ourselves in half the time. Now that we have a nine room house and a eight month old baby things have changed.
