I have a couch and love seat set that are recliners, and they are some of the best couches I have owned. However, since we have had them for a while, they need repair. Some of the repair involves repairing some of the broken wood frame and also the fabric. I don't know who to call and also wonder if it is cost effective to do so? I also have a daddy chair and it is still in excellent order. The stuffing is out on the love seat arms and on the couch, one of the seats wood in the back is broken, and on the other side the springs that hold up the foam under neat are gone. Who would you call for such repairs. Thank you.

Furniture upholster... It's very, very expensive having upholstery work done. Especially, if the item needs frame repair.. In most cases it's cheaper to buy new than to fix something old.. Depending on the condition of the piece that needs fixing.. I just re stuffed my couch cushions.. The frame was fine the cushions were just sagging so I refilled them.. The couch looks almost brand new ! However, that's a cheap/easy fix..

You would look for an Upholsterer. You might find Upholstry in the yellowpages. or look under furniture repair. As far as cost effective, it will depend on what the sofa is worth to you. It's like anything else, It usually costs the same or more to fix than it is to replace. It's a lot of work. I just re did my sofa and lounge chair just with covering. It really wasn't that worn down, just didn't like the color any more. It was going to cost more for the fabric than it was to almost get a new one without labor costs. Luckily I found some stuff on sale, but if I had to do it over again, I would have just bought new for all of the work involved. I have a wing backed chair to redo, but think it will be history and I will get another one. However it is always harder to find something like you once had.

Most good upholstery shops can fix that, for a cost.

I would seriously evaluate weather or not you want to fix or replace these items. Take a day after your quote and go look at the furniture stores. Not the crappy ones, go look in a few decent stores and see what you can get for your money.

Call an apolsterer. Some will actually come to your house and repair the furniture.
However, since it needs wood repair...you may have to haul it to a shop. Ya never know....they may come pick it up for you.
