I had sex with this guy, about 5 months ago. I went for a HIV test at the clinic after almost three months after we had sex, the test was negative. I did the test just to be safe. Should i be worried about anything?

Technically the virus can wait in your system for 6 months or even a year before it'll show up on a blood test. If you want to be sure, you might want to go for another in a month. If you want to be VERY sure, a 3rd test in 7 months.

He is right. The virus for HIV can stay dormant or latent for quite awhile which makes it hard to detect early on. If you want to make absoluetly sure, I'd wait it out acouple more months then retake the test. If that one comes back negative again, I'd wait another couple of months then take it again. Rather be safe than sorry.

I WOULD GO BACK IN ANOTHER YEAR JUST TO BE SURE. THEY DONT ALWAYS SHOW UP THAT SOON.
