About a week ago I noticed symptoms of a yeast infection. I used a one-day dose, and the internal symptoms seemed to clear up in a couple of days. But the external irritation and pain (almost like chafed) are still present. I am using diaper rash cream to see if that clears it up.

Any other ideas?

You need to go see your Gynocologist or your primary doctor. If you suspect you have a yeast infection, one day will not cure it, you will need an antibiotic for it, an especially if you are still having others symptoms/external irritation. Your best bet is to let the doctor examine you and know for sure what is wrong and go from there. Even if the diaper rash cream helped you, I wouldstill go see the dr. just to make sure you are fine, and nothing is going on. Yeast infections can get worse over time, if left untreated, will be very uncomfortable also.

There is also and external cream by vagisal or monistat you could try. However they do always recomend going to the doctor if the over the counter stuff doesn't work cause it could be something else or a more severe one that needs antibiotics. Usually the over the counter stuff relieves but may not cure. Make sure you wear cotton undies too and do not soak in a tub or anything like that cause that makes the fungus grow.

U NEED A 7 DAY TREATMENT. GET VAGISIL. IT WORKS. DIAPER CREAM IS FOR A RASH ANYWAY NOT A YEAST INFECTION. MONASTATE IS SOMETHING ELSE I WOULD TRY. GOOD LUCK.

you might consider getting a swab test from your Dr. as genital herpes and yeast infection have very similar symptoms.
