yes lions do live in jungles. but not very dense jungles with lots of trees. the african savannah and the indian semi deserts are where lions live.
these places are mostly plains with lots of grass and some bushes where the lions can hide while hunting for their prey.
a very bushy place like the indian jungle where the tiger lives will not suit the lions since the lions are stalker-chasers, and tigers are mostly stalkers.
lions need to follow their prey closely for a while and then need to launch a chase. a place with plenty of trees and undergrowth like india would not allow this.
and just to let you know, lions do live in deserts contrary to popular belief. there are a few prides of lions living in an african dessert close to the beach. this is the only place where you can see lions eating seafood.
so the ideal condition for a lion would be somewhere in between a dense jungle and a desert. where it can stalk chase and hunt its prey.

The typical lion that you see on the Discovery channel etc lives on the the plain, savannah, grasslands. But there used to be the desert lion, just like there are desert elephants. But they were rare and may extinct by now.

"Savannah" is kind of like prarie or grassland. Lots of herbivores graze in herds. Lots of food for lions.

Googled "lion habitat" to find
http://www.bio.davidson.edu/people/vecase/Behavior/Spring2004/shelburne/habitat.html

"Semi-arid" is like "half-desert" but you still would not expect to see a lion in the middle of the Sahara.

Probably neither. African lions live MAINLY in the savannah - open grassland. Indian lions may also inhabit forest.

Plains...neither desert nor jungle.

Camels live in deserts.
Tigers live in jungles.

Lions don't live in either.
